» Synopsis
The classic story of loyalty, trust, and sacrifice comes to life in this live-action adaptation. Fern (Dakota Fanning) is one of only two living beings who sees that Wilbur is a special animal as she raises him, the runt of the litterto a terrific and radiant pig. As Wilbur moves into a new barn, he begins a second profound friendship with the most unlikely of creatures – a spider named Charlotte – and their bond inspires the animals around them to come together as a family. When the word gets out that Wilbur's days are numbered, it seems that only a miracle will save his life. A determined Charlotte – who sees miracles in the ordinary – spins words into her web in an effort to convince the farmer that Wilbur is "some pig" and worth saving.

A live-action/photo real CG animated feature adaptation of E.B. White's "Charlotte's Web" starring Dakota Fanning as Fern. Julia Roberts will lend her vocals in the lead role of Charlotte A. Cavatica, a spider and heroine of the book who goes out of her way to save Wilbur the pig's life by weaving miraculous words into her webs.

Also providing voices are Oprah Winfrey as Gussy the barn's maternal yet irreverent goose; John Cleese as Samuel the sheep; Steve Buscemi as the barn's sardonic Rat Templeton. Cedric The Entertainer will play opposite Oprah as the other Goose - Golly. Reba McEntire and Kathy Bates will voice the barn's ironic cows; Betsy and Bitsy and Thomas Haden Church will voice Brooks, one of two dimwitted crows opposite Andre Benjamin (Andre 3000) as Elwyn the other crow.

The critically acclaimed book "Charlotte's Web" written by award-winning author E.B. White and illustrated by Garth Williams is the best selling children's paperback of all time. To date the book has sold 45 Million copies worldwide and has been translated into 23 languages since published in 1952. "Charlotte's Web" is published by HarperCollins Children's Books.

» Dakota on the Movie
"I'm in Melbourne for Charlotte's Web. I've been here for a month and a half and I have three weeks to go. It's been really fun, I've never been here before, and it's been really exciting.""

“Well, totally different farm movies. In Charlotte's Web it's not my farm. And there are tons of pigs and all different kinds of animals. Cows and sheep and geese and we filmed that in Australia actually. [The animals] were so good. I mean, all the pigs, there was like 47 to 60 pigs – it was crazy. There were tons of them in all different sizes and then they would get too big and then they would have to get some more to bring in. Pigs grow so fast. I mean, one minute it would be like this small and then the next minute it'd be that big. I got to hold them and feed them with the bottle. It was so cute."

"I play Fern and it's all real animals. All the voices in it are so amazing and all the pigs are so cute!"

"A little bit [weird]. Because I was talking to an animal. But it's funny, when you have all of them together in one scene – we had horses and cows and geese and sheep and pigs – so you have all the trainers going, “Over here! Over here!” [snaps her fingers]. So we had the cows, which were Dickie and Joanna, we had the horse who was Ike and then we had all these names for the sheep. We had Nigel and Samuel and Emily. Then we had 70 pigs. They were all different sizes. From tiny to enormous ones. Some of the pigs their ears would turn weird or their snout would get too long, so they couldn't use them anymore. So they would get a new batch. Every week they would go back to the piggery and get new pigs to raise and train."
