Lucky Magazine Interview and Accompanying Photo Shoot

Posted by Madison on August 12th, 2014

Lucky has published Laura Morgan’s interview with Dakota, titled "The Natural," which you can read here. She talks about fashion, how acting makes her feel and a little bit about Jamie (they watch Game of Thrones together, one of my absolute favourite shows!). The interview took place at Café Cluny and Laura describes Dakota as we saw her on May 22 at the location. Along with the interview were four photos from the accompanying shoot, one of which we had already, so be sure to check out the other three below:

Dressed in Proenza Schouler, Dakota can be seen on the September issue of Lucky next month. The magazine’s Facebook page mentions the full story will be available on their website next week, I’ll let you know when it’s available! She was photographed by Dan Martensen for the editorial and I’m sure more from the shoot will show up for us soon. :)

Dakota Joins the Cast of “American Pastoral”

Posted by Madison on August 6th, 2014

Exciting news! Dakota has been cast as Merry Levov in American Pastoral, directed by Philip Noyce. She’ll star opposite Ewan McGregor and Jennifer Connelly (both playing her parents). Filming is set to begin in Pittsburgh next March.

The movie is based on a book of the same name by Philip Roth, published in 1997, which won the Pulitzer Prize the following year. I’ll definitely be checking it out to learn Merry’s story. The book description is as follows:

In American Pastoral, Philip Roth gives us a novel of unqualified greatness that is an elegy for all the twentieth century’s promises of prosperity, civic order, and domestic bliss. Roth’s protagonist is Seymour "Swede" Levov – a legendary high school athlete, a devoted family man, a hard worker, the prosperous inheritor of his father’s Newark glove factory – comes of age in thriving, triumphant post-war America. And then one day in 1968, Swede’s beautiful American luck deserts him.

For Swede’s adored daughter, Merry, has grown from a loving, quick-witted girl into a sullen, fanatical teenager – a teenager capable of an outlandishly savage act of political terrorism. And overnight Swede is wrenched out of the longed-for American pastoral and into the indigenous American berserk. Compulsively readable, propelled by sorrow, rage, and a deep compassion for its characters, this is Roth’s masterpiece.
